We managed to get a pre-order in right away for the iPad mini, but the
shipping date has since slipped to 2 weeks for the 16GB model. This
happened within an hour of the UK pre-orders going live, although it
seems to be only this size affected for the Black and Slate model. We
can confirm that the White and Silver iPad mini has also seen the
shipping date slip, which is now set to 2 weeks for shipping and then a
few days after this for the product to arrive with you.
You can see how smooth the pre-order process went for us here, which had been published moments after the UK iPad mini pre-order went live, so this is normally expected if you get in soon enough. The same cannot be said for everyone, which has been seen in the comments from that article.
Some people have experienced payment authorization problems and others ordered the iPad mini just after 8am, but once their payment went through had seen a shipping date of Nov 15. The image above shows what the current dispatch time is for new 16GB iPad mini pre-orders, which currently states “2 weeks” rather than a “deliver 2/11” like when we ordered first thing this morning. You can also see another image below, and that shows the iPad mini shipping date for the White and Silver model. We can see the White version has seen shipping dates slip to 2 weeks for all storage sizes.
