On Friday we’ve heard reports coming from New York advocacy group China Labor Watch that Foxconn workers in China were in strike.
Reported reasons were varying from a. Apple asking people to work on
holidays to b. alleged enforcement of tighter quality control. It looks
like Foxconn is denying all strike-related repots.
Not only that but Foxconn said that production is on schedule in an
important time to Apple, writes Reuters. The Taiwanese company’s
statement included the following: “any reports that there has been an
employee strike are inaccurate. [...] There has been no workplace
stoppage in that facility or any other Foxconn facility and production
has continued on schedule”. Furthermore, Foxconn claims that those
workers who decided on their own to work on the National Holiday were
paid three times their normal compensation, as per the requirements of
the law.
