component makers claim to have received orders to make more than 10
million iPad Minis in the fourth quarter, which is reportedly double the
number of orders for Amazon's Kindle Fire.
This claim comes from The Wall Street Journal, which earlier in the month revealed how the same component suppliers have already started producing Apple’s 7.85-inch tablet.
The tablet, to date going by the name of the iPad Mini, is believed to have an A6 processor, 8 or 16GB of memory and run Apple’s latest mobile operating system, iOS 6. The tablet is also expected to have 3G connectivity.
According to Fortune, the tablet will be announced on October 17, with sources telling TabTimes that the model will sell for between $249 and $329.
