Apple Wins Patent on iPhone 4 Design

Also wins patent on iPad's case, and one regarding design of the white iPhone.

Apple has seen its streak of patent application approvals from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) continue.

The company had filed for a patent on the iPhone 4's design, which was awarded just recently, despite the smartphone launching a few years ago.

The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office also awarded a design patent on the white iPhone, which is a device that was delayed back in 2010 due to "challenging" production issues.

Additionally, Apple was awarded a patent pertaining to the iPad's case, as well as the firm's Smart Cover; it magnetically connects to the tablet and sits on top of the device's screen.

Elsewhere, the firm won a MagSafe charging mechanism-related patent. The technology magnetically connects to a Mac in order to charge it; however, when the cable is torn away, the magnetic seal is broken, subsequently ensuring the computer it was connected to remains still.

Back in October, Apple were granted an accumulative of 34 patents from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
