iOS 6.1 beta 3 live, meets jailbreak visual

Within the last 24 hours we’ve seen iOS 6.1 beta 3 go live for developers to download with the full release notes showing a few changes, which are targeted at making it easier for app creators to include Apple’s iOS 6 maps within their apps. This is made possible thanks to new mapping APIs, other than this it seems that changes are pretty minor and not like we used to get with beta updates in the past. You can also see a video below this article that shows you how to perform a iOS 6.1 beta 3 jailbreak on the iPhone 4, also works on the 3GS, but it is worth pointing out that no iPhone 5 jailbreak exists for iOS 6, 6.01, or 6.1 at the time of writing.

It has been 21 days since beta 2 went live for developers, and both that version and this latest download state they include a number of improvements and bug fixes. Developers will also need Xcode 4.6 Developer Preview 3, although iOS 6.1 beta 3 can be installed OTA if you’ve already installed the previous update. We’ve looked at the SDK release notes and don’t see much that has changed, so it isn’t worth adding a changelog at this time and hope beta 4 has a lot more to offer.
