Evad3rs released their untethered jailbreak for the iPhone 5 and other iOS 6 devices on Monday, even going as far as educating those who are interested in how exactly jailbreaking works. It
was a moment many potential jail breakers were looking forward to,
which was made more apparent once it was downloaded 1.7 million times.
iPhone users have been able to legally jailbreak their devices for some time now, although Apple has been reminding its users
the dangers of jailbreaking since the first iPhone jailbreak was
released. Seeing how popular Evad3rs’ jailbreak has become, Apple is
once again reminding iOS users the dangers of jailbreaking their
devices.
Apple has updated its unauthorized modification Knowledge Base
article to “help” its iOS users learn just how dangerous it is to
jailbreak their devices. They list some potential problems being program
instability, dropped phone calls, security vulnerability and the
shortening of battery life. Apple also has reminded its users that
jailbreaking their iOS devices violates its iOS end-user license
agreement and will reserve the right to deny service to jailbroken
devices.
