Leaked iPhone parts assembled, fit 'perfectly' (Photos)

Online electronics repair firm attaches new docking port and headphone jack assembly to the frame of what is believed to the next generation of Apple's smartphone.

A collection of leaked parts purportedly for Apple's next iPhone that recently surfaced have been assembled by an online electronics repair company and have been found to fit "perfectly."
iResQ published photos today of the smaller docking port and headphone jack assembly attached to the frame of what is believed to the next generation of Apple's smartphone.

"The docking port and headphone jack assembly seemed to fit perfectly inside of the frame," the firm said in a blog post. "One of our technicians was even able to screw the assembly into the pre-aligned screw holes inside of the frame. All of the threading and screw holes lined up perfectly with the screw holes in then docking port/headphone jack assembly."

From looking at the frame, iResQ expects the new iPhone -- sometimes referred to as the iPhone 5 -- to have a single speaker like current models that would fit inside the new iPhone in much the same way it does on the iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S.

iResQ notes that the frame/back casing it possess is incomplete and should be filled in with more parts.
"This means that there are some missing plastic gaskets and fittings inside of the back casing that should fill in the tiny gaps between the docking port and the headphone jack in relation to the frame," the company said.

Rumor has it that Apple plans to unveil the iPhone 5 during an event on September 12 and the company will start accepting preorders as early as that same day.
