Samsung Galaxy S III Mini Joins Galaxy S II Plus In Recent Rumor

There is absolutely no denying of the incredible success of the Galaxy S II, Galaxy S III, and Galaxy Note. We’re positive that the upcoming Galaxy Note II will also be a huge accomplishment but is this the only phone Samsung is planning for this year?

According to rumors, no. We’ve heard of a certain Galaxy S II+/Galaxy S II Plus even before MWC. After the Galaxy S Plus, the Galaxy S II Plus would come as a natural way of evolution in Samsung’s line-up and recent rumors are bringing it back. Rumored specs are the same: WVGA display and a CPU clocking at 1.5GHz.

Joining the above is the Galaxy S III Mini (?) which, according to rumors, will capitalize on the S III’s success and pack a five-megapixel camera, four-inch WVGA Super AMOLED display and a dual core processor (probably Exynos).

Does it make sense for Samsung to prepare to new phones for the end of this year? Apple is expected to launch the next iPhone soon and at that time the Galaxy S III will be four months old. There’s no denying that the S III will still be a top Android phone (and even probably one year from now) but the market has to move. Since Samsung is only launching a flagship once a year we might see the Korean company unveil something towards Q4.

However, it is more likely that Samsung will put all of its efforts in bringing the Note to the U.S. as soon as possible and build up an incredible buzz around it. If they’ll manage to achieve the same thing with carriers and the market as they did with the Galaxy S III, they can definitely sustain their sales towards the holiday season. That’s not to say new phones will hurt anyone! What do you think?

Update: If you go to the source link you can see the renders above on a product page of carrier VTR from Chile for the alleged Galaxy S II Plus. Specs include a 4.5-inch AMOLED display, dual-core 1.5GHz Exynos processor, 1GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, eight-megapixel main camera and Ice Cream Sandwich on-board.
