World's First Linux Ultrabook Laptop As Expensive As A Windows Version!

The UltraLap 430 is available with a choice of Linux operating systems, including Ubuntu 12.04 LTS as well as Debian, Linux Mint, Fedora, and others.

Friday, September 07, 2012 Linux makes things cheaper! Well, we have always lived with this belief but the cost of ZaReason UltraLap 430 forces us to change our thoughts. The UltraLap 430 is priced at $899 for the base model and if you go for a beefed up RAM, it can easily top $1,000.

ZaReason has already launched high-end Verix 2.5 laptop earlier this year. The new UltraLap 430 comes with a couple of attractive features like Intel HD 4000 graphics, third-generation Ivy Bridge technology, and Intel Rapid Start Technology, which renders fast boot up for the device.

The device comes packed with 35.8-cm (14.1-inch) HD glossy LED backlit display, and HD stereo speakers, a multigesture touchpad, Bluetooth, 802.11 B/G/N WiFi, a 1.3-megapixel HD webcam, and a 3-in-1 card reader with SD/MMC/MS support. It features an i3-3217U 1.8GHz processor. Users just have to invest $49 to upgrade to an i5-3317U. The netbook also has 4GB of DDR3-1333 memory and has a 32GB mSATA SSD.

The UltraLap 430 weighs around 3.5 pounds and is available with a choice of Linux operating systems, including Ubuntu 12.04 LTS as well as Debian, Linux Mint, Fedora, and others.

Does the price justify the specifications that the UltraLap 430 offers? Please let us know with your comments.
