Android may come to rescue
the sinking Research In Motion, the result of which we may see in the
form of an Android BlackBerry. RIM is facing a tough time. The fiscal
results of the company showed that it needs a massive job cut and
BlackBerry 10 got delayed till next year. Some online reports claimed
that Steve Ballmer, chief executive officer, Microsoft, had approached
the company in the past for a tie-up with Windows Phone. Sources say
that RIM can consider Android too. Google’s Matias Duarte believes that
RIM can make great hardware for Android platform too.
In a conversation with ABC News, Duarte expressed his fondness for hardware keyboards. He said, “I love hardware keyboards. Many of the products that I have worked on had hardware keyboards.” For him there is a place for hardware keyboards.

Duarte continued expressing
his passion for hardware keyboards and went ahead to say that he would
love to see RIM adopt Android. He said, “I would really welcome if RIM
wanted to work with Android. They make great physical keyboards.”
The mobile landscape has clearly undergone a drastic change where physical keyboards have been replaced by on-screen ones. There are only a few options left coming from the likes of Motorola but there is certainly no competition with Samsung and HTC. Google is fancying the idea of an Android BlackBerry. Tell us, would you want to have one?
